The Comprehensive Cardiometabolic Risk-Reduction Program (CCRR) is a collaborative educational initiative sponsored by the NLA to promote enhanced standards of care for cardiometabolic risk management. The purpose of this program is to inform lipid specialists on novel ways of addressing cardiometabolic risk factors, including dyslipidemia, dysglycemia, hypertension, excess bodyweight/central adiposity, and emerging markers.

Program content will detail the evolving challenges of cardiometabolic risk management, the latest thinking on the drivers of cardiometabolic risk, key concepts in patient identification and assessment, and new strategies for treatment and patient management.

Through educational courses and ongoing support, this educational initiative will strive to foster a paradigm shift in cardiometabolic risk management by broadening treatment protocols utilized in lipid clinics throughout the United States. Starting in December 2007 and throughout 2008, the CCRR educational curriculum will be delivered regionally at 4-hour live CME courses hosted at leading lipid clinics. For those members who attend a regional course, the CCRR program will serve as a gateway to participate in an ongoing educational network and to take steps toward fulfilling the NLA’s professional and practice development pathways.
